Buy electronic components from one of the world leaders in the field. Farnell is a distributor of electronic, electrical, industrial and maintenance products with over 400,000 products from over 3000 suppliers on its books. 24 hour ordering, 365 days a year with express next day delivery available on stocked product.
Farnell are a supplier of electrical and electronic components to home and business users. Similar to RS components they also supply products from tools to work wear. The homepage is a bit disappointing to today’s standards. The default font is tiny and difficult to make out at normal resolution. There are tiny product pictures and the product category menu font is very small. There is contact information at the top of the page for technical support and on the footer for everything else. On the right is a live support icon which expands when you hover over with the mouse pointer, but again it’s not easy to see.
Clicking on a featured product reveals a much better view and user experience. For the example I’ve chosen the Raspberry Pi which brings up a fantastic product showcase, much better. The product detail page is packed with technical information, delivery and stock levels and technical data sheets. There’s a place to add a voucher code if you have one.
Delivery is free for all trade account holders without a minimum spend. Delivery is free for all orders over £20 for non-trade account holders. Payment can be made direct from a bank for account holder or alternatively by credit or debit card. Farnell manage pages on several of the popular social networks including Google+ and Facebook for those who like to keep in touch. Farnell also host a community forum and blog pages where customers can interact with other users and support staff.
