Homebase History
The Homebase DIY chain was originally founded by Sainsbury’s supermarket back in 1979 and originally branded as Sainsbury’s Homebase. The very first store was opened in Croydon on March 1981. Homebase grew even further when Sainsbury’s bought out the popular home improvement chain Texas DIY in 1996. Sainsbury’s sold Homebase to GUS plc in 2002 and it later became part of the Argos Retail Group. You will find all a massive range of DIY and building goods that are expected in a large DIY chain including a department of home products and electrical items.
Homebase also stock a range of indoor and outdoor furniture as well as garden products and plants & flowers.

Delivery starts from as little as £3.95 for smaller items and larger bulky items that require 2 persons is charged at the low price of £8.95, not much considering it’s a 2 man job! Delivery of larger, bulky items may take up to 7 days; see the homebase.co.uk website for more information. Saturday delivery is charged at £6.95.

Returns and Refunds
Most purchases are covered by the Homebase 30-day money-back guarantee which provides either an exchange or a full refund depending on your choice. The customer service telephone number is 0845 077 8888 which you can call to arrange a free collection as long as the products are unused, in their original packaging and with proof of purchase.
