About Lands End
Lands’ End was established by Gary Comer back in 1963 when he opened a sailing equipment business in Chicago, Illinois. He started the company with partners Richard Stearns and Robert Halperin and 2 others. After branching out into clothing, footwear and home furnishings the business found itself flourishing due to the expanded product range. The name came about after a misspelling of the name with a misplaced apostrophe which should have read Land’s End rather than Lands’ End. Sears bought out the company in 2002 and quickly formed partnerships with Debenhams and House of Fraser. On top of this came a lucrative clothing line in the Sears store chain.
Today Lands’ End sells an ever changing range of clothing for men, women and kids. Whilst holding the sailing theme on some lines the range does extend to the latest clothing trends. Kids include cool hoodies and hip tees. Within the adult departments outdoor clothing is a big selling line along with casual everyday items and trendy sports footwear. UK delivery is fast and reliable with free shipping available on the standard service subject to a minimum spend. Next day services are available for those who can’t wait 2 to 3 days for the free option.
