What instantly appeals at first glance is the accessibility of all the main products from the home page. There is a large feature banner but it doesn’t distract from the drop menu or the help links. As mentioned there’s a featured main sales area with smaller product promotion right underneath but it is not overdone.
The search is immediately visible on the top menu but to find the contact details you have to scroll to the bottom of the page. There is a link to the help pages on the header space. You can find all the office product categories under the header, Staples do cater for the business user as well as home office customers. Prices can be shown with VAT added or excluded; this choice is instantly available on the popup menu when loading the page.
Free delivery is available subject to a minimum order charge. Interestingly the free delivery option includes a next day service with is unusual but a fantastic offer. If have a Staples store nearby you can use the free next click and collect service.
The product pages include the main bulleted points describing the product with images showing different angles and views. The delivery lead time information is on hand along with click and collect availability. Scrolling down, an extended product description is shown with a similar and also bought product showcase.
Payment is taken by using Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Unfortunately there are no quick checkout options using PayPal or Google Checkout. Staples manage a selection of social pages at Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.
