Currys are a well known high street retailer of household electrical good and home electronics They sell a massive range of large and small kitchen appliances, home entertainment, gaming and small electrical products at some of the very best prices around. Currys is an electrical goods retail brand owned by Dixons Retail plc, formerly DSG International. Currys UK is the largest electronics goods retailer and operating from over 300 locations across the UK and Ireland. There is also the online portal where customers can get access to the latest technology and home electrical products, available for collection in-store or home delivery.
Currys became part of the Dixons Retail plc in 1984 and in 1988 the decision was made to operate it as its own brand to retain customer loyalty and build the brand name even bigger. In 1995 Currys opened the biggest electrical superstore in Europe just outside Birmingham in the Midlands. A concept they still operate today, the majority of Currys stores are located in out of town retail centres which has proven a very successful business model for Currys.
In 2001 Currys launched their online store and in keeping with their tradition of aiming to be the biggest, it is the largest online electronic and household electrical store in the UK. The stores also offer after sales services such as technical helplines, in-store technical help (the Tech Guys, KnowHow etc.), extended warranties and insurance products. Currys continues to be one of the largest retail destinations for home electrical appliances as well as computing and other electronic appliances.
